The American Geosciences Institute is a nonprofit federation of geoscientific and professional associations that represents more than 250,000 geologists, geophysicists and other earth scientists. Founded in 1948, AGI provides information services to geoscientists, serves as a voice of shared interests in the profession, plays a major role in strengthening geoscience education, and strives to increase public awareness of the vital role the geosciences play in society's use of resources, resiliency to natural hazards, and interaction with the environment.
ADVANCEing FieldSafety: Training for diverse and inclusive geoscience teams
ADVANCEing FieldSafety is a program that provides field research teams with the training and tools to promote safe and inclusive environments, identify and mitigate unsafe and harmful behaviors, and create a culture within field teams that reduces the likelihood and impact of these behaviors in the future.
Panelists are:
Anne U. Gold - Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences, University of Colorado Boulder
Blair Schneider - Kansas Geological Survey, University of Kansas
Mariama Dryák-Vallies - Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences, University of Colorado Boulder
Alexandra M. Padilla - Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences, University of Colorado Boulder
During this webinar, the panelists will discuss:
- the development of an asynchronous online training course and an accompanying toolkit of references and resources for field teams,
- the different certification pathways for training participants,
- how the training addresses the new NSF PAPPG for safe and inclusive field environments (2E9),
- and our research plan for studying the effectiveness of the training course and Toolkit resources for participants and field teams.
ADVANCEing FieldSafety is an NSF-funded collaboration between CU-Boulder and the ADVANCEGeo Partnership.

❤very educational of our moving Earth😊 thank you.
Not buying the bugz into peepz theory.
None of those Egyptian workers are wearing hard hats.
There are plenty of better planets to live on.
Best way is to stop talking about it. One group, Scientists. Stop judging & dividing. /that was why it was easier 20 years ago.
A beautiful young lady working in a challenging profession that benefit society, soo impressed 👍 wish you a successful, satisfying career✌️
Sorry--my internet just crashed, so I am rejoining by phone...
#Geoscience @ U.S. Geological Survey (USGS): "so the title for today is, "Traveling Through Time with the International Discovery Earth Program, Scientific Ocean Drilling Reveals Earth's Past", "sci-enti-fic=know that it is fiction", However, it is clearly visible, the scraping & scarring across our seafloor, where North America had "drifted" across the Atlantic ocean, until this abruptly stops, at the Bermuda-Hotspot, this massive mantle plume, that had injected magma between cracks, forming the ancient "ring of fire", from east Texas to western Florida, erupting many mud-volcanoes throughout southern states... #Geology, -"--#History-- is a set of lies agreed upon"- ...continents displaced when our #MoonsplitPangaea @ #MediterraneanSea, #13kya, initiating "a time without a moon",.. pivot South America back upwards, eliminating Caribbean sea, bring Americas back down, matching curvature at mid-Atlantic ridge, will display western rim of this encounter, #cyclicalcatastrophism, causing severe mutations... ...until a #comet formed #HudsonBay #11kya, releasing attraction, resetting this planet's #dynamo, our "26ky" #precessionalcycle, #YDB, ending megalithic-works... #asteroseismology #1812Project: ...& we all would have probably been aware of this knowledge, had it not been for #Sungrazer, #C1811F1's cometary-catastrophe, one massive bolide resurfacing entire #MississippiEmbayment #Dec16_1811, a great #massextinction-event... ...this impact pushing North America further up in latitude, causing many of these volcanoes to fall into empty magma-chambers, leaving only a couple/few veins, at Hot Springs Arkansas, & where we get much of our carbonated-waters from, the Jackson-Dome, now sitting 2900 feet directly below the Jackson Colosseum... ...& has left an entire population suffering #collectiveamnesia... #ShockDynamics: //////////////// -where does the actual evidence lead, what do you believe is --#Ourstory--, isn't this so much more AMAZING!!!, consider these facts, while listening to such indoctrination, wonder why we allowed this- -Please do allow US to add in another option within our textbooks, Thanks!!! & Please- +bring back our lost #Antiquitech+"find the truths behind the myths"
Excellent. Thank you.
What about the basalt ridges of the Holyoke Range in Massachetts tilted south to Meridan CT? Clearly volcanic. At one point it wasthe southern end of glacial lake Hitchock. The plains of Northampton, Hadley, North to Deerfield. A huge aquifer.
wow very good video
yes bro very good
i love ur content@@nazzz4153
I badly wish to do MSc once or if it is called again .
Faces of eart wonderful dokumentery lands scape 🎉
Can you imagine how many continents that are lost to time over trillions of years of shifting? Can we begin to talk about when these modern day land masses reached above sea level? Can you imagine how many species are lost to time in the shift?
In Germany we use a deposit system for plastic bottles and glass bottles too. You pay 8/ 15/ 25 cents depending on the type of bottle in advance and get it back when you put the empty bottle in the deposit machine.
200 million years? Is that all?
14:22 Spaghetti and meatballs, anyone?
FFS! What the hell does this have to do with Geoscience?
I was searching such a video. Thank you for filming this. I like geology though . Btw I am watching you from Russia.
Nice job Shadya! Very informative.
Man made global warming is nonsense
With maps(paper) harder to purchase ,these are invaluable for farm and aquatic recreational as well as forestry. Thanks
This was great to see 😊 ... thank you. I always wanted to work for a state geological survey... and still do! ... I regret not trying, when I lived in Wyoming (11 yrs)... I'm in Ohio now. I really hope we/us geologists can work to inspire more people (especially young folks) to enter the geological sciences... the discipline has really suffered in the last decade or so, especially... geology is an important science and needs to be shown as such. Watching this video is a good resource to share, and hopefully in recruiting/sharing with people who can be our next potential generation of talented geoscientists.
Did anyone else catch the error the narrator made at 36:00?
Gases released at site and temperature change show it
Earth quakes are thermodynamic
I wish for Brasil that we would have this kind of survey. We keep on guessing
How is it we had so many sea floors that are everywhere all over the world? How is it the rocks all over the world contain things that never lived with each other,? How is it there are trees found everywhere over the world, that never live near swamps, so as they have no roots or branches, they must have been wash in , some coal is 100 or more metres thick, ? How is it Cambridge University studies show that Australian Aborigines languages are only 4000 years old? How is it the throwing sticks in old Egypt and India look the same as the throwing sticks in Australia? Ask John Mackay the creation guy and Indiana Joe his highly qualified friend!! Watch how strata forms in real time?
This is one of the best and informative videos on tectonic plate movement on earth. I’m especially keen on the current activity in Africa’s Rift Valley.
Brilliant!
Math is not my specialty so can someone help me out with what they mean at 4:15 where he says "the amount of magma that oozed in and formed this new crust in the middle of these two tectonic plates was over 88,000 cubic feet; enough to fill a football stadium 2,000 times over"?? I mean I'm getting a football stadium 44 cubic ft large or, "about one-and-three-fourths times as big as a hot tub." so I don't know what, but I guess I'm doing something wrong! haha
i watched this and got a B+
That music in the background sucks. I stopped watching it because of it
Sounds like the PG certificate is a government scam. Delinquent fees, cancellation of fees, back payments?
Cameramans 😎
Love this modelling! This should be used as an educational tool in schools!

what type of chemicals would you say can be found in surface water?
Isn’t the San Andreas fault not the same? When that spilts off will it not be a separate plate?
What can we do to speed this up?
Due to the use of fossile fuel we will get extinct and make room for new life form. This time hopefully an intelligent one.
Great delivery. Very insightful. Thanks Dr. Kreamer
but this video still doesn't tell me what big idea 7 is
Well if this happened in a few days. How do we know that it won’t carry on quickly ?
The world needs more of this!
This a comercial but also there is know way where going to run out of resources the hipe is just a scare.there is way to much world here than humans.and we are not growing where killing each other because of government.when the government says something like today its climate change! Sorry im not falling for it.theres cole and oil for generation to come so quit believing this bull.its government!!! how much more can i say? brainwashing at its best.
